Awal sejarah

John Vesely membentuk Secondhand Serenade di kota tempat ia tinggal, Menlo Park di California, Amerika Serikat, pada tahun 2004. Vesely dibesarkan di San Francisco Bay Area di keluarga musik dan sebagai anak dari seorang ayah musisi jazz profesional, berkomentar bahwa "masuk ke musik adalah hal yang alami" baginya. Sebagian besar album adalah lagu baru yang ditulis oleh John Vesely dan dicatat dengan band. Dua trek pada A Twist in My Story diproduksi oleh produsen terkenal Butch Walker, sementara yang lain diproduksi oleh mantan anggota Nine Inch Nails Danny Lohner. Single pertama, "Fall for You,"dirilis 21 Januari 2008. Album ini bocor, dan dibuat tersedia untuk di-download satu bulan sebelum rilis resmi. Pada tanggal 28 Januari 2008, video musik untuk single pertama dari album "Fall for You" perdana di acara MTV TRL. Hear Me Now (2010-sekarang)

 

Album studio ketiga Secondhand Serenade yang berjudul Hear Me Now, yang dirilis pada tanggal 3 Agustus 2010. daftar lagu album tersebut juga telah diumumkan.^[13] Dalam sebuah wawancara baru-baru ini, Vesely menyatakan bahwa rekor baru akan lebih bersemangat dari album terakhirnya, yang berfokus pada hubungan.

Secondhand Serenade - singer/songwriter John Vesely - returns with his third album, Hear Me Now, out August 3rd on ILG/Glassnote Records. Eight of the eleven songs on the album were produced by Aaron Johnson (The Fray) at Swing House studios in Los Angeles. The other three, including the first single, "Something More", were produced by John Vesely himself along with Secondhand drummer Tom Breyfogle at Vesely's home studio and mixed by Mark Endert (Train, Maroon 5). "Something More" will debut at 7:40AM on May 17th on Kid Kraddick's nationally syndicated radio show and will be available at iTunes on June 1st.[13]

Pada tanggal 1 Juni, "Something More" dirilis ke iTunes sebagai deluxe single dengan bonus lagu "You Are A Drug", sebuah video menunjukkan pembuatan "Something More", dan digital booklet untuk single baru. Pada tanggal 21 Juli saat tur di Dallas, Vesely mengumumkan bahwa sebuah paket lagu yang dapat didownload untuk Rock Band akan tersedia segera, yang menampilkan beberapa hits Secondhand Serenade termasuk "Fall For You". My Chemical Romance adalah grup musik asal New Jersey, yang dibentuk pada bulan September tahun 2001 oleh Gerard way dan Matt Pelissier. Saat ini, band ini diawaki oleh Gerard Way (vokal), Mikey Way (bass), Ray Toro (lead guitar),Frank Lero (gitar), dan Bob Bryar (drum). Nama band ini terinspirasi oleh buku karangan Irvine Welsh yaitu Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance.
My Chemical Romance adalah grup band yang menurut media bergenre pop punk, post-hardcore, punk revival, rock alternatif. Namun grup ini mendeskripsikan musik mereka sebagai musik "rock" atau "pop yang kasar", dan menolak diklasifikasikan sebagai emo. Grup ini telah merilis tiga album yaitu I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love pada tahun 2002, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge pada tahun 2004, dan The Black Parade pada tahun 2006.
Band ini mendapat inspirasi dari Queen, Black Flag, Iron Maiden, The Misfits, Morissey, At the Gates, Pink Floyd, The Smashing Pumpkins, Descendents, Pantera, The Cure, dan The Smiths. Selain terinspirasi, mereka juga menginspirasi sekelompok anak muda asal Indonesia yang akrab disebut kelompok SGW.

Pada awal pembentukannya, My Chemical Romance terdiri dari Gerard Way (vokalis), Mikey Way (bassist), Frank Iero (gitaris), Ray Toro (gitaris), dan Matt Pelissier (drummer).

Gerard Way pernah menjadi penulis komik.
Gerard pernah dibilang homo karena penampilan barunya di album The Black Parade, namun sesungguhnya penampilan barunya itu bertujuan untuk menyingkirkan kesan emo pada dirinya.

My Chemical Romance suka menyisipkan kata ‘motherfu*cker’,Fucking pada beberapa lagu seperti Save Yourself, I’ll Hold Them Back, You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison dan House of Wolves.
Gerard sering sekali ganti-ganti gaya rambut. Pada album 1-2, rambutnya berwarna hitam panjang. Pada album ke 3, rambutnya putih pendek. Pada album ke 4, rambutnya berwarna merah bergaya Elvis.
Satu-satunya personil My Chemical Romance yang ga pernah ganti gaya rambut adalah Ray Toro. Dari dulu sampe sekarang rambutnya tetep kribo warna coklat.

Dan, yg lebih parah, sebuah foto syur gadis tersebut dan pacarnya tersebar di kampus. Saat itu pun perasaan Gerard campur aduk ga karuan, dan akhirnya terciptalah lagu ini.

Petualangan ‘killjoys’ cuma diceritakan di video clip Na Na Na dan Sing. Pada video clip Planetary (GO!) gak ada lagi petualangan ‘killjoys’ karena pada video clip Sing, para ‘killjoys’ diceritakan sudah mati tertembak.
Di album Danger Days, ada lagu berjudul Party Poison dan Jet-Star and The Kobra Kid/Traffic Report, tapi ga ada lagu yang judulnya mengandung kata Fun Ghoul.
